Valued Opinions Review
Survey sites can be a great hobby for you to do in your spare time. Especially if you can also make money doing them. Some survey sites redeem rewards in different ways such as sweepstakes entries or digital gifts, but most pay a cash incentive for you to participate in surveys in which you give your opinion about products and services you’ve tried.
This can be great for you if you’re a stay-at-home homemaker and you want to make a little extra cash. It gives you something to do and you can feel like you’re a part of something; you are changing the face of products and services for the future.
In addition, you can also make a little money for those new shoes you wanted or that new food processor. Whatever the reason you have decided to check out paid survey sites, you need to know that some are not what they say they are. Some are scams, some just don’t pay, and some are legit.
Valued Opinions is a legit company
Valued Opinions is a part of the largest online survey company in the world. The market research panel was established in 2004 and is owned and run by ResearchNow, which was originally founded in 2000.
In December 2009, it was acquired by e-Rewards, Inc. In terms of credibility, ResearchNow has all bases covered: it holds a Council of American Survey Research Organization membership, or CASRO, as well as one with the American Marketing Association, or AMA.
Valued Opinions itself is a member of both the Marketing Research Association (MRA) and the Marketing Research Society (MRS). In addition, ReseachNow also has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
All of this makes me feel very good about the legit paid survey site Valued Opinions. Members complete online surveys, diary studies, or test products at home in exchange for gift cards from top brands of the member’s choice.
How to start Valued Opinions
According to their home page, it just takes three easy steps: 1) Register for free, 2) Participate in surveys, and 3) Earn rewards. It’s a little more in-depth than that, so I’ll explain it.
Upon visiting the VO homepage, you’ll see a ”Join Today” button. (Update: It appears Valued Opinions isn’t accepting any new members at this time.) You’ll then be sent to a registration application to fill out some basic personal information, such as your email address.
You will then need to confirm your membership via your email. Once you’ve confirmed, you are required to advance your profile information as to identify compatible surveys for you.
You’ll then start receiving invitations to take surveys, and not just surveys, but also other marketing research such as reviewing advertising campaigns or helping develop and testing new products.
You’ll receive regularly invites to participate in research for which you can earn $1 to $5 in credit, with some specialty surveys worth as much as $50. It then can take up to 28 days for your account to be credited, but you can login and track your completed surveys and corresponding payouts via a status report on the site.
The minimum payout is $20, but once you reach that goal, you can redeem your rewards via gift card from various top brand companies, such as Amazon.com, Visa, Macy’s, iTunes, Chili’s, CVS/Pharmacy, Target, Nike, Multi-Brand, or many more.
Since these are digital gift certificates, they arrive almost immediately.

The good and bad about Valued Opinions
What I most like about this company is that it’s a member of several marketing groups, as is its parent company. This is the most obviously legitimate site I’ve reviewed so far.
I also like that it offers a variety of marketing research that you can participate in. In addition, I love the fact that you can choose with whom you want to redeem your rewards with, and if you choose Visa, you can use the money for literally anything.
The Valued Opinion website, or what I could see, since it wouldn’t let me join, was very self-explanatory and easy to navigate. After reading its homepage, I was going to try this one out for myself.
Unfortunately, Valued Opinion is not accepting new members at this time. I’m not sure how often this happens or how long it will last, because I couldn’t find any reference to this happening before. I can only imagine with the recent popularity of survey sites, people are probably flocking to the sites which seem the most legitimate.
Another thing I didn’t like about this site is that it can take up to 28 days for you to earn the reward after completing a survey or other type of market research. If you’re trying to accumulate credit in order for something specific, it’s going to take a while for it to all add up.
Is Valued Opinions a scam?
All in all, I really liked the way this site looked, read, and felt. They posted on their main page that the site is members of two marketing groups and so is their parent company.
I can only assume that this survey site is so legit, that members are staying with them, and they’ve topped out; they don’t need any more at this time. I’m going to keep checking back with them. If you are looking for a survey site to join, you should try it, too.
The complaints I read for this site were minimal. Members seemed to be happy with the forms of payment as well as most aspects of this site.
Valued Opinions is definitely a legitimate site, it just may be hard to become a member. If this is the site you want to join, just keep trying! They’ll have to bring in new members sometime.
